The Next Evolution of Natural Restoration:
PRF & PRF Gel
While traditional fillers provide immediate volume, PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) offers something more profound: a 100% natural, biological regenerator sourced directly from your own blood. Often called "Liquid Gold," PRF is the evolution of PRP, containing a higher concentration of platelets, white blood cells, and fibrin. By slowly releasing growth factors over time, PRF doesn't just mask aging—it triggers your body to repair itself from the inside out. Whether you’re looking to brighten tired under-eyes or restore thinning hair, our PRF treatments offer a chemical-free path to lasting radiance.
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is the "second generation" of platelet therapy. While Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) served as a pioneer, PRF represents a more potent, long-lasting, and 100% natural evolution in regenerative medicine.
In our practice, we utilize PRF not just as a treatment, but as a versatile tool for structural restoration and skin health. Whether you are seeking to fill deep folds or rejuvenate the delicate under-eye area, PRF harnesses your body’s own biology to achieve results that synthetic fillers cannot replicate.
Advanced Applications of PRF:
* The Ultimate Microneedling "Slip" Agent: During microneedling, we use liquid PRF as a bioactive lubricant. Unlike standard serums, PRF serves as a nutrient-dense slipping agent that is driven deep into the dermis. This triggers rapid healing and maximizes the production of new collagen and elastin from the inside out.
* Tear Trough Augmentation (The PRF + HA Blend): The under-eye area is notoriously difficult to treat. By blending PRF with a high-quality Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler, we create a "super-solution." The HA provides immediate structural support and hydration, while the PRF works over time to thicken the skin, reduce blue-toned shadows (the Tyndall effect), and improve tissue quality.
* PRF Gel: The Natural Alternative to Dermal Fillers: For patients who prefer a 100% autologous (from your own body) approach, or for those who have developed sensitivities to traditional fillers, PRF Gel is a game-changer. By heating a portion of your plasma and recombining it with concentrated albumin and growth factors, we create a natural injectable gel. This allows us to fill shadows and folds with a material that your body recognizes as its own, lasting up to four months while simultaneously biostimulating your own collagen.
The Biological Caveat: "The Health of the Host":
Because PRF is derived entirely from your own blood, the "raw material" is only as powerful as your current state of health. PRF is a host-dependent treatment. Factors such as hydration, nutrition, stress levels, age, and smoking status can influence the concentration of growth factors in your plasma. To ensure you receive the most transformative results, we evaluate every patient holistically.
Expert Guidance for Optimal Outcomes:
We believe in the right tool for the right task. While PRF is extraordinary, it is not a "one size fits all" solution. During your consultation, we may recommend even more advanced regenerative boosters—such as PDRN (Salmon DNA) or Exosomes—if we believe your skin requires a more concentrated signal for repair that your own PRF may not be able to provide alone.
How PRF Differs from PRP:
While both have been used for decades in dentistry and orthopedics, PRF offers distinct advantages in medical aesthetics:
*1. Higher Potency: PRF contains a higher concentration of platelets, leucocytes, and mesenchymal stem cells than PRP.
*2. Slow-Release Technology: Unlike PRP, which releases its growth factors in one quick "burst," PRF forms a fibrin scaffold that releases growth factors slowly over several days, leading to better long-term tissue regeneration.
3. Specifically, PRF promotes:
✅ Angiogenesis: The creation of new blood flow to the skin.
✅ Cell Recruitment: Drawing your body's own stem cells to the treated area.
✅ Proliferation: The rapid production of new, healthy skin cells.

PRF Gel Process and Results
PRF is separated from the platelet poor plasma. The plasma is gently heated to thicken it. The the potent "liquid gold" PRF is mixed into the newly created plasma suspension and injected into shadows and deep wrinkles in the lower face.
This process yields immediate as well as long term natural results.

Photos were taken after third treatment. First two treatments were PRF liquid alone. To get longer lasting results, PRF liquid was blended with a small amount of Hyaluronic Acid Filler. One year later, results are still lasting, albeit and touch-up wil be needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do PRF results last?
Unlike temporary fixes, PRF stimulates long-term tissue regeneration. While you may see initial improvement within weeks, the full collagen-building effects peak around 3–6 months. With a recommended initial series of treatments, results can last 12 to 18 months, with annual maintenance.
Is PRF better than dermal fillers?
"Better" depends on your goals. Dermal fillers provide instant structural volume using synthetic gel. PRF is a natural alternative that improves skin quality, thickness, and health using your own cells. Many patients at Complexion Perfexion choose PRF for the under-eye area because it looks more natural and carries zero risk of allergic reaction or "puffiness" associated with some fillers.
Is there downtime after a PRF treatment?
PRF is a minimally invasive "lunchtime" procedure. You may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site for 24–48 hours. Because PRF is autologous (from your own body), there is virtually no risk of rejection or systemic side effects.
How many PRF sessions will I need?
For optimal skin rejuvenation or hair restoration, we typically recommend a series of 3 to 4 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. This allows the fibrin matrix to build layers of new collagen and elastin for the most transformative results.
How should I prepare for the treatment?
As with any injectable, there is always a chance of bruising, swelling and soreness. Whether a person bruises and for how long also varies from person-to-person. It is also dependent on medications and supplements you might be taking.
To ensure the best results and minimize the chance of bruising, please follow these simple steps before your appointment:
1. Avoid Blood Thinners: For 3–5 days prior, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), and high doses of Vitamin E or Fish Oil, as these can increase bruising.
2. Skip the Spirits: Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your treatment.
3. Arnica is Your Friend: Many clients find that taking Arnica Montana (a natural supplement) starting two days before treatment helps keep swelling to a minimum.
4. Come Fresh-Faced: If possible, arrive with a clean face free of heavy makeup. We will thoroughly cleanse the area again before we begin.
5. Plan Ahead: Schedule your filler at least 2 weeks before any major events (weddings, photo shoots) to allow any minor swelling or bruising to fully resolve.
6. Come in well-hydrated. The first step is a blood draw from your arm, so you should be well-hydrated for easy location and access to periperal veins.
